Experience Viking life – understand history

The Viking village Njardarheimr consists of more than 20 buildings and over 2,000 m2 of buildings, and more are being planned. The houses are built based on previous experience with reconstructions of Viking Age buildings. All the decorations are based on styles from the Viking Age, but with our own design. The buildings use materials found here by the Nærøyfjord, such as peat and roof shingles, as in the stave churches.

In the Viking village you can take part in activities, see attractions, talk to the inhabitants of Njardarheimr and learn more about the Viking Age. You can experience the excitement of archery, axe throwing and learn Viking lore and smell the tar and fires. Join the daily activities of the Viking families in Njardarheimr!
