A ROAD TRIP TO NORWAY’S BEST VIEW
Kjeåsen is earlier described as the world’s most isolated settlement. It lies as an eagle’s nest 600meters above the Simadalsfjord.
Today you can drive up to Kjeåsen by car. The road was opened in 1974 in connection with the Sima Powerplant.
The road is 5 km long, of wich 2,5 km is serpentine road, the rest is through a narrow tunnel. Because of heavy traffic it is introduced hourly driving: TRAFFIC UP TO Kjeåsen EVERY FULL HOUR, TRAFFIC DOWN FROM Kjeåsen EVERY HALF HOUR. There is no longer access for tourists on farm nr.2 at Kjeåsen. We advise people to follow the marked path, and not step on the grass.
Currently there is no sale of food and drinks at Kjeåsen. Please respect privat areas. No drones allowed.
